1st Shift Production Operator

Location:  Muscatine

Pay rate:  $18.50/HR


Sedona Staffing is seeking a Production Operator for a client located in the Muscatine area. Qualified candidates must have experience and be able to do the following:
Job Summary
Sets up and operates either manual production equipment or robots to fabricate a mix of low and high-volume parts.  Performs work under direct supervision from the manager, assistant team leader (ATL), or other departmental lead.  Handles basic issues and problems, and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff.
Essential Job Duties
  • Sets up and operates equipment including, but not limited to, saws, straightening presses, simple spindle drills, lasers, robots,  measuring devices, etc.
  • Receives raw materials and/or processed parts and follows step by step prints/standardized work to fabricate or weld low mix/high volume parts
  • Adheres to proper feeds, speeds, and settings to maximize production levels and machine/tool life
  • Inspects own work before next operation.  Makes adjustments as necessary.
  • Stacks and/or moves completed work by following material handling and safety procedures.
  • Uses computers to ensure that inventories of required supplies are kept at appropriate levels.  Notifies supervisor or ATL of shortages.
  • Follows standard work to complete tasks.
  • Completes short cycle tasks (typically less than 1 hour) on schedule, holding tolerances of approximately +/- .0-10-.030.
  • Supports the Company’s 5S program in maintaining work area, equipment, and supplies in a neat organized manner.
  • Makes recommendations to change outdated or ineffective procedures through the kaizen process.
  • Supports Toyota Production System (TPS) driven processes and activities.
  • Performs related work as assigned.
  • Regular attendance in the workplace is required for interaction with others and to support teamwork.
