Sedona Staffing Services is immediately hiring for a Production Supervisor in Waco, TX to work with one of our amazing client companies!
Pay: $70000
Work Hours:
Monday-Friday, 3 PM to 11 PM
THE ROLE
The Production Supervisor is tasked with overseeing and guiding production operations and executing the production schedule by managing Team Leads and hourly staff during their assigned shift. This role involves coordinating multiple activities simultaneously, ensuring the efficiency of production equipment, and maintaining the safety and performance standards of the team. The Production Supervisor collaborates closely with various departments to implement plant-wide initiatives, ensuring timely, safe, and budget-compliant delivery of quality products to our customers. Additionally, the role ensures that standard procedures for Team Leads, Production Operators, and Utility personnel are adhered to safely and effectively.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Execute Production Plan:
Schedule and allocate personnel, achieve work results, set priorities, monitor progress, and adjust assignments as needed.
- Manage Attendance:
Oversee employee attendance and timekeeping, addressing behavior issues as necessary.
- Report Issues:
Notify management of potential equipment or facility concerns that may impact safety, quality, productivity, or on-time delivery.
- Assist with Reporting:
Support the Production Manager with daily, weekly, and monthly production reports, and cover for them in their absence.
- Coordinate Repairs:
Work with maintenance to schedule equipment repairs around production needs.
- Employee Training:
Evaluate training status of new and existing employees to ensure job performance capabilities.
- Inventory Management:
Ensure adequate parts and supplies are available to meet production requirements.
- Inventory Control:
Implement and maintain inventory control practices to keep accurate records of production operations in compliance with ISO 9001-2015; coordinate with Shipping, Receiving, and Quality teams to optimize workflow.
- Process Improvement:
Develop and implement processes to enhance stewardship, safety, quality, and productivity.
- Maintain Plant Environment:
Ensure the plant is safe, clean, and well-organized.
- Lead and Develop Team:
Hire, lead, train, coach, develop, motivate, and conduct performance evaluations for Production and Utility employees.
- Achieve Targets:
Consistently meet goals for housekeeping (5S), safety, quality, delivery, and production.
- Policy Compliance:
Ensure team adherence to company policies, practices, and procedures.
- Safe Working Environment:
Provide a safe and respectful working environment, fostering mutual trust and respect.
- Drive Continuous Improvement:
Facilitate change and promote continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain Records:
Keep accurate records of production, efficiency, utilization, and waste; identify and act on improvement opportunities.
- Enforce Safety Policies:
Enforce safety policies to minimize the risk of workplace injuries.
- Employee Training on Safety:
Train and retrain employees on safe machinery operation.
- Set Objectives and Provide Feedback:
Communicate job expectations, provide feedback to employees and management, and set daily/weekly/monthly objectives for the team.
- Resolve Personnel Issues:
Analyze data, investigate issues, identify solutions, and recommend actions to resolve personnel problems.
- Evaluate Efficiency:
Assess each manufacturing process station to ensure optimal efficiency.
- Flexibility:
Be prepared to work any shift or cover other shifts as necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS | SKILLS | ABILITIES
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent; 3 years of related manufacturing experience.
- Minimum 3 years of supervisory/management experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Proven ability to work effectively within teams at all workforce levels.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
- Lean Certification Preferred.
- Ability to make sound decisions, find solutions to problems, work independently, and respond promptly to inquiries.
- Excellent planning and organizational skills.
- Effective presentation skills in one-on-one and small group settings.
- Strong ethical standards and positive, hands-on leadership style.
- Attention to detail with strong analytical thinking abilities.
- Proficiency in computer and MS Office applications.
- Formal front-line supervisor and/or leadership training preferred (not required).
- Ability to adapt to rapidly changing demands and priorities.
- Willingness to work weekends with teams as necessary.
