Metal Lamination Technician

Hours :   1st shift 7 am to 3:30 pm and 2nd shift 2 pm to 10 pm

Compensation:  $17-19/hr. DOE

Description:  Responsible for performing all tasks involved in the fabrication of the company’s composite parts. The position follows standard work methods and practices safe work habits to ensure production is as efficient and safe as possible.

Responsibilities:
  • Prep and maintain tools in accordance with specified guidelines and procedures
  • Accurately follow work instructions
  • Perform Composite layup such as: Carbon Pre-Preg, Carbon Fibers, Kevlar layup, Fiberglass and Hand Layup
  • Trim excess materials from molds, using hand shears or trimming knives
  • Perform part build-up free from wrinkles, air pockets, and voids
  • Check completed products for conformance to specifications and for defects by checking them visually
  • Understands & completes internal & customer required layup documents.
  • Records information on appropriate production records, logs, and other report forms
  • Performs re-work as required
  • Cleans and reseals tools using the appropriate release systems
  • Be aware of FOD & Tool control at all times
 
Requirements: 
  • U.S. Person status required do to export control
  • 1-2 years of manufacturing experience
  • Composite experience
  • Experienced with hand tools and measuring instruments
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Ability to stand, walk, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • Ability to lift/move 50lbs
