Job Title: Designer /Drafter 
Location:   Waco, TX 
Pay Rate:   $18-$25/ hr  DOE 

Job Overview:
Sedona Staffing is currently seeking a Designer to join  one of our amazing client companies!    The Designer will work with the engineering department’s design team to create submittal drawings for customer approval while ensuring compliance with project design requirements. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the engineering team to develop submittal drawings based on standard designs.
  • Utilize SDS2 drafting software to create standard part designs.
  • Compile engineering documentation and submittal calculation packages, including structural calculations, production specifications, and RFIs.
  • Provide problem-solving solutions for fieldwork issues related to fit and finish.
  • Use 3D CAD software to visually communicate product ideas and solutions both internally and externally.
  • Identify and resolve design problems or inconsistencies.
  • Ensure all drawings and specifications comply with required standards and codes.
  • Maintain compliance with design safety factors, tolerances, and specifications.
  • Stay updated on the latest drafting software and industry advancements.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
 
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree in a related field OR 5+ years of relevant experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • At least 3 years of experience with computer-aided (CAD) design tools and familiarity with design programs such as Adobe Creative Suite or SketchUp.
  • Ability to maintain punctuality and adhere to scheduled work hours.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to travel up to 20% to job sites.
  • Authorization to work in the United States at the time of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with 3D modeling software such as SDS/2, RISA, SolidWorks, or Inventor.
  • Bilingual in Spanish.
  • Experience in drafting rails, ramps, and stairs.
  • Knowledge of flat, shallow, and deep foundations or civil drafting.
  • Structural steel drafting experience.
